Don't Compress Page


The Don't Compress page contains preferences for files which should not be compressed. These are typically files which are already compressed, or don't get much smaller when they are compressed.

Check this box to not compress files of a particular type, or type and creator.

Use the Choose button to choose files which are representative of the kind of files which should not be compressed.





Check this box to not compress files by partial name.
The file names which will not be compressed are shown in the list.

Click the New button to add an entry in the list.

Use the popup menu to choose start with, end with, contain, or match.




Use this preference to not compress small files. Because small files do not compress well, it is often faster to transfer them uncompressed.

The smallest size that can be set is 128 bytes. The largest size that can be set is 128K bytes, or 131,072 bytes.
